Draft for legal review.

Qrisp and its payments partner must follow Australian law and the rules of the banks and payment networks we use. This policy lists what you may not use Qrisp for. It forms part of your Merchant Services Agreement.

Prohibited businesses and activities

You may not use Qrisp to accept payments for:

  • anything illegal in Australia or in the place it is sold
  • gambling, betting, lotteries or games of chance (including sweepstakes and raffles run as a business)
  • cryptocurrency, digital assets, foreign currency exchange or money transfer services
  • payday lending, buy-now-pay-later, debt collection, credit repair or debt settlement
  • investment schemes, binary options, or any "get rich quick" scheme
  • multi-level marketing or pyramid schemes
  • adult content, adult services or escort services
  • weapons, firearms, ammunition, explosives or their parts
  • illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia, or unapproved medicines and supplements making health claims
  • counterfeit, stolen or replica goods, or goods that infringe intellectual property
  • tobacco or vaping products without the licences the law requires
  • shell businesses, or payments taken on behalf of another business (payment aggregation)
  • anything that is unfair, deceptive or misleading to consumers

Businesses that need extra review

We can support these businesses after a manual review, and may ask for licences or other documents:

  • registered charities and fundraising
  • travel agents and tour operators
  • events and ticketing (payments taken well before the event)
  • second-hand dealers and pawnbrokers
  • licensed alcohol retailers
  • any business expecting more than A$250,000 a month in QR payments

Your obligations

  1. Tell us before you change what your business sells.
  2. Don't use Qrisp to hide the true nature of a payment.
  3. Don't try to get around our limits, checks or fees.

If you breach this policy, we may refuse or reverse payments, suspend your account, and report the activity to the authorities where the law requires.
